Woman injured in one-car crash

A Dunkirk woman was in critical condition yesterday after a car accident late Sunday afternoon on Fairhaven Road.

Sophia E. Garrett, 20, of the 6500 block of Clagett Ave. was eastbound on Fairhaven Road near Franklin Gibson Road in Friendship, when she saw a deer, swerved and lost control of the car.

The 1988 Nissan ran up an embankment and overturned, police said. Ms. Garrett was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Pollution control firm relocating to Annapolis

An environmental firm is relocating its corporate headquarters from Minneapolis to West Garrett Place in Annapolis, County Executive Robert R. Neall has announced.

Air Cure Environmental, which provides air pollution control equipment to industrial customers worldwide, is moving into the office building on West Street.

It will maintain engineering and manufacturing facilities in Minneapolis. The company also has offices in Cleveland, Denver, Frankfurt, Germany, and Singapore.

"The growing number of firms with global markets moving to Anne Arundel County is a positive signal that our economy is becoming more diversified," Mr. Neall said in a press release announcing the company's relocation.
