Navy women 10th in Eastern swimming COLLEGES

Navy women's swimming team finished 10th at the Eastern Women's Swimming League Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., yesterday. Seniors Mary Beth Sines and Kelly Kinsella closed out their careers at Navy with a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2 minutes, 7.22 seconds) and eighth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.76), respectively.

* In gymnastics, Navy's women lost to North Carolina and William & Mary in Chapel Hill, N.C.

North Carolina claimed first place in the three-team competition with 186.95 points, followed by William & Mary (185.70) and Navy (167.30).

Sophomore Michelle Lobritz recorded personal bests on the uneven bars (8.55), the floor exercise (8.50) and all-around (33.05).

* In men's volleyball, Navy defeated Princeton (3-1) and Harvard (3-0) at Princeton, N.J.

Game scores against Princeton were 15-13, 15-10, 10-15 and 15-13.

The Midshipmen swept Harvard, 15-13, 15-8, and 15-12.

Senior Matt Lobner had 14 kills on the day and sophomore D'Sunte Wilson added 12 to lead the Mids.

* Navy's men's tennis team opened the season with a 7-0 loss to Ohio State in Columbus.
