Teen-ager charged in shooting at occupied car after fistfight

A Glen Burnie teen-ager was charged with five counts of attempted murder after allegedly firing 18 shots from a rifle at a car holding five people late Saturday.

The 16-year-old boy also was charged as a juvenile with reckless endangerment.

Police said the shots were fired from a .22-caliber rifle at the car in the 700 block of Pamela Road in Glen Burnie at 11:17 p.m. Officers said the teen-ager went into his house and got the rifle from his bedroom after getting into a fistfight with one of the

car's occupants.

Four shots hit the car and one ruptured the gas tank. A teen-age girl was slightly injured by shattering glass, police said.

The teen-ager was being held yesterday at Boys Village of Maryland in southern Prince George's County.

Woman bitten, robbed of jewelry by couple

A 32-year-old Glen Burnie woman was bitten and robbed of her jewelry as she walked in the 1000 block of Cayer Drive Friday, county police reported.

The woman told police she walked past a man and a woman sitting in a truck at 2:30 a.m. After she passed the truck, she heard the doors slam.

The occupants ran up behind her and pushed her down. When she struggled with them as they tried to take her purse, one of the assailants bit her in the leg.

They grabbed her necklace and ring, ran to the truck and drove off.

Man lunges at register, makes off with cash

A waitress at Denny's restaurant in Glen Burnie was injured during a robbery Friday night in which a man lunged across a counter to grab money from an open cash drawer.

Police said the man entered the restaurant in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway shortly before 11 p.m. He ordered a cup of coffee from a waitress.

After a few minutes, he asked the waitress for change of a quarter. When she opened the cash drawer, he lunged for the money, police said. The waitress tried to stop him, but the man pushed her out of the way and grabbed an undetermined amount of money. He drove away in a white Chevette with a Maryland license plate. The waitress was treated for an injured left arm.

Police find crack in van, arrest 3

Three people were arrested Friday night and their van was confiscated when police said they found cocaine after receiving a tip from a confidential informant.

The tipster gave police a description of the vehicle and said the occupants were transporting crack cocaine somewhere.

Members of the Northern District Tactical Narcotics Team stopped the 1979 Dodge Van about 7:10 at Americana Circle in Glen Burnie.

Police said they confiscated 4.5 grams of crack cocaine and $248 in cash. They also seized the van.

Charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine were Robert Glace, 33, of the 7800 block of Americana Circle; Jennifer Sholl, 19, of the 800 block of Seckle Court in Baltimore; and Kenneth Roger McCoy, 21, of the first block of Fernglen Ave. in Glen Burnie.

* Ferndale Farms: Burglars broke into a shed in the yard of a home in the 400 block of Wistful Vista Court Thursday and took a motor bike. The value of the property was not known.
