College group to present nation's poet laureate
The Howard County Poetry and Literature Society will present Mona Van Duyn, the nation's 1992-93 poet laureate, at 7:30 p.m. March 9 in the Lower Nursing Lounge of the Howard Community College in Columbia.
She will share the reading with poet Henry Taylor, who will interview her for "The Writing Life" on HCC's Cable Eight.
Ms. Van Duyn is the recipient of the 1991 Pulitzer Prize, "Near Changes." Her poem, "For William Clinton, President Elect" appeared on Jan. 5 in the Washington Post.
The fee is $5. HCC students with identification may attend free.
