SHOWS

Through March 14: Ward Foundation exhibit of Birds of the Chesapeake, paintings by John W. Taylor in Salisbury. For more information, call the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, (410) 742-4988.

Today: Last day of the Maryland Recreational Vehicle Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Comprehensive show displaying newest and most RVs and associated products in the Mid-Atlantic region. Show opens at noon. Admission is $6 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free.

Today: Last day of Washington Boat Show, Washington Convention Center. Show opens at 11 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Today: Maryland Sportsman's Show and Fleamarket at the National Guard Armory in Frederick, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored by the Hub City Bassmasters and Tri-State Anglers. Door prizes, new and used boats, tackle and gear. Fishing information and bookings by fresh and saltwater guides. Donation of $2 and children under 8 admitted free.

FISHING

Wednesday: Monthly meeting of Free State Fly Fishers at Hillsmere Elementary School in Annapolis, 7:30 p.m. Joe Bruce of the Fisherman's Edge will speak on rod building. The public is welcome.

March 16: Monthly meeting of Maryland Chapter of Trout Unlimited, IOOF Hall 511 York Road, Towson, 7:30 p.m. Speaker will be Lefty Kreh on fly fishing in New Guinea. The public is welcome.

HUNTING/SHOOTING

Wednesday: Public forum concerning the two-week firearms season in Maryland for white-tailed deer, 7 p.m. at Annapolis High School, Riva Road. Sponsored by the Conservation Federation of Maryland, with guest panelists Russ Nichols, president of Maryland Bow Hunters Society, outdoors writer Bill Burton, Hap Baker of the Western Maryland Sportsmens Federation and a representative of the Department of Natural Resources. Moderator will be Allan Ellis of Maryland Outdoors.

Wednesday and Saturday: Hunter safety education course at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Wednesday: 7 p.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Pre-registration required, $2 fee and limit of 60 students. For more information, call (410) 549-4963.
