Driver in stable condition

February 28, 1993

A Westminster man remained hospitalized yesterday for injuries he received in a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Union Mills.

Elton Peterson, 62, was in fair and stable condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, a spokesman said. Mr. Peterson was the driver of one of the vehicles.

Also injured were the driver of the other vehicle, Vincent Cimino, 30, of Gettysburg, Pa., and his son, Matthew, 4. Mr. Cimino has been released from Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and Matthew has been released from the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Mr. Cimino was driving north on Route 97 about 9:20 p.m. Thursday when he crossed the double yellow line and crashed head-on into a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Mr. Peterson, authorities said.

State police would not say yesterday if charges had been filed in the accident.
