Chamber honors Donna Tehansky of Kelly Services

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce honored Donna Tehansky of Kelly Temporary Services Inc. with a "Business and Education Partnerships" award at its monthly breakfast meeting Tuesday.

Ms. Tehansky has participated in the Passport to the Future program, job fairs for the Carroll County public schools, the Displaced Homemaker program at Carroll Community College, Job Training Partnership Act programs and Alternative Programs.

She also is active in Junior Achievement and a member of the Chamber of Commerce Business and Education committee.

"[Ms. Tehansky] came, and will be happy to come, to speak at any JA classes about hiring young people," said Scott Manhoff, chair of the Business and Education Committee.

Other businesses honored this month for their work in supporting local students and educational programs were:

* Bare Truck Center Inc. for hiring vocational students as part of the work experience program, and sending representatives to speak in the job orientation program.

* Cherie Jenkins of Jenkins Insurance Associates Inc. for consulting in the Project Business program.

*Long's Florist for financial support of Junior Achievement programs in Carroll County.

*Mount Airy Rotary Club for financial support of Junior Achievement programs and for helping the organization recruit business consultants for the Applied Economics and Project Business programs.
