OFFICER ASSAULTED: Western District -- Officer Kenneth Jefferies was in the 1700 block of N. Bruce St. Monday when a man pointed a 9mm semiautomatic handgun at him and threatened to shoot. Officer Jefferies pulled the weapon from the man's hand and during a struggle was cut on the right leg. The officer was taken to Bon Secours Hospital, where he received 15 stitches to close the wound and was released. Charged with assaulting Officer Jefferies and possession of a handgun was Charles Himple, 24, of the 1100 block of N. Mount St.

THEFT: Western District -- Police were seeking a 30-year-old female resident of the 600 block of N. Franklintown Road in connection with the theft Tuesday of more than $400 worth of jewelry from a house in the 2800 block of Harlem Ave.

THEFT: Western District -- Police were seeking a woman in connection with the theft of a VCR valued at more than $300 from a house in the 100 block of N. Smallwood St. Monday.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a car owned by a resident of the 2500 block of W. Patapsco Ave. while the vehicle was parked in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. over the weekend and stole a TV valued at $70.

THEFT: Western District -- A man entered the Farm Fresh store at Mondawmin Mall Monday and stole two packages of steaks, several pork chops and a can of tuna fish.

THEFT: Western District -- Stereo equipment valued at $500 was stolen from a car owned by a resident of the 8300 block of Streamwood Drive while the vehicle was parked in the 2100 block of N. Dukeland St. Monday.

ROBBERY: Western District -- An out-of-town resident was in the 1800 block of Edmondson Ave. over the weekend when a gunman robbed her of cash and property, all valued at more than $500.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Richardson St. was in the 700 block of W. Baltimore St. Monday night when she was knocked to the pavement by a man who stole her purse containing a small sum.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of N. Payson St. Monday and stole a 27-inch TV and a VCR, all valued at more than $500. Police were seeking a woman BTC known to the owner of the property in connection with the theft.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a teen-age boy Monday who attempted to leave McCrory's department store in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. without paying for merchandise valued at $13. Following theft charges, the youth was released into the custody of his parents.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a 1987 Chevrolet while it was parked in the 1800 block of South Road Tuesday morning after breaking a window and stole a cellular phone valued at more than $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Checks, cash and a camera, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen between Monday night and Tuesday morning by someone who entered the Franciscan Center in the 2200 block of Maryland Ave. by using a pry tool to open a rear window.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1990 Honda with Maryland tags YTE219 was stolen from the 200 block of E. 26th St. Tuesday.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a 1987 Mercury owned by a resident of the 2300 block of Perring Manor Drive while the vehicle was parked in the 5900 block of York Road Sunday and stole a cellular phone.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Two 19-inch TVs and a VCR, all valued at $800, were stolen from a house in the 300 block of E. 30th St. Tuesday by someone who entered with a key.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 300 block of Tuscany Road was walking near the Rotunda in the 700 block of W. 40th St. Tuesday night when she was knocked to the pavement by a man who attempted to steal her purse. During a struggle, the man dragged the woman several feet before she was forced to let go of her purse.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a room at Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. Tuesday and stole a wallet containing credit cards and cash, all valued at $60.

THEFT: Northern District -- A 21-speed mountain bike valued at $400 was stolen from the rear yard of a house in the 1900 block of South Road Tuesday afternoon.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A TV, compact disc player and jewelry, all valued at nearly $800, were stolen from a house in the 4400 block of Fallsbridge Drive between Saturday and Tuesday by someone who entered through a window.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole the coin box of a parking meter in the 3600 block of Chestnut Ave. between Feb. (( 12 and Tuesday. It was not immediately known how much money was in the box.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- A resident of the 700 block of McCabe Ave. was walking in the 500 block of McCabe Ave. about 3 p.m. Tuesday when one of three men in a passing blue car fired a shot at her, striking her in the right leg. The car sped off and the woman was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment.
