BALTIMORE CITY

* ROBBERY TRY: Northern District-- A resident of the 300 block of E. University Parkway was in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave. Monday afternoon when she was attacked by three men who knocked her to the pavement and attempted to steal her purse. The woman resisted and cried out, causing the men to flee without taking her property.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Someone walked onto the front porch of a house in the 4300 block of Falls Road over the weekend and stole a 10-speed bike valued at more than $200.

* THEFT: Central District -- A battery valued at nearly $60 was stolen from a 1971 Volkswagen over the weekend while it was parked in the 1700 block of Linden Ave.

* BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone entered a house in the 900 block of Brooks Lane through a skylight over the weekend and stole several pieces of clothing and coins, all valued at more than $400.

* ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of the 1300 block of Linden Green was near her home Monday night when she was knocked to the pavement by a man who stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $300.

* ROBBERY/ARREST: Southern District -- Police arrested Wayne Sewell, 19, of the 1100 block of Sargeant St., and charged him with robbing a resident of the 900 block of W. Lombard St. of $20 in the 300 block of S. Norris St. Monday afternoon.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Patapsco St. was in the 200 block of E. Heath St. Monday night when he was assaulted by two men who robbed him of a jacket valued at nearly $200.

* THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man Sunday when he tried to leave the Giant Food store in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane without paying for medicine he allegedly took from the shelf in the pharmacy section.

* BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone entered Kirby's Deli in the 400 block of W. Redwood St. Sunday night through the front window and stole 12 cartons of cigarettes valued at more than $200.

* THEFT: Central District -- Tools valued at more than $700 were stolen from a 1986 Chevrolet in the 100 block of W. Hamilton St. Friday.

* ROBBERY: Central District -- A resident of New Jersey was in the 200 block of St. Paul St. Monday night when two men stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $105.

* THEFT/ARREST: Central District -- Police arrested a man Monday who attempted to leave the Sharper Image in the Gallery at 200 block of E. Pratt St. without paying for a shirt valued at $70.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1986 Toyota station wagon with Maryland tags PDT-771 and owned by a resident of the 5400 block of Purlington Way was stolen from the 3600 block of St. Paul St. over the weekend.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1980 Buick with Maryland tags YEH-035 was stolen from the 4600 block of Pall Mall Road Monday.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- Someone stole a 1984 Chevrolet with Maryland tags YZE-999 from the 2600 block of Loyola Southway over the weekend.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered the Ibello upholstering company in the 3500 block of Parkdale Ave. over the weekend after breaking a window and stole a TV and a fax machine, all valued at more than $2,000.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2000 block of Druid Park Drive through a basement door over the weekend and stole two TVs, a VCR, telephone, microwave oven and food, all valued at more than $1,500.

* BURGLARY/ARREST: Northern District -- A man with no permanent address entered a house in the 300 block of E. 29th St. Monday and was caught by the occupant, who held him for police. The man was being held at the Northeastern District station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1978 Chevrolet with Maryland tags ZGV-841 and owned by a resident of the 2800 block of Miles Ave. was stolen from the 3000 block of Remington Ave. Monday morning.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who stole a 19-inch TV and $25 from a house in the 800 block of E. 41st St. Saturday while the occupant was asleep.

* THEFT: Northern District -- A cable TV access box owned by United Cable in the 2500 block of Kirk Ave. was stolen from a house in the 2700 block of N. Calvert St. between Oct. 1 and Monday. The device is valued at more than $250.

* STOLEN CAR: CAR: Northern District -- A 1985 Toyota with Maryland tags SDL-549 was stolen over the weekend from the 2000 block of W. Northern Parkway.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a cafeteria at the Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. over the weekend and stole a TV worth $600.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Power tools valued at nearly $1,000 were stolen Monday morning from a 1989 Ford van while it was parked in the 5700 block of Chinquapin Parkway.
