4 men rob shoe store in Pasadena

Four men robbed a Pasadena shoe store Friday night, forced two employees into a closet and got away with an undetermined amount of money, county police said.

Police responding to a holdup alarm at the Payless Shoe Store in the first block of Mountain Road about 9:10 p.m. said they found two employees in the closet with their wrists taped together.

The employees said the four men were looking around the store when one of them took out a silver handgun and ordered them to the back of the store.

Armed man takes $300 from woman

A man armed with a knife robbed a Glen Burnie woman of about $300 Friday night just after she withdrew money from an automated teller machine at the Maryland National Bank branch on Mountain Road near Route 648.

Police said the man walked up to Edna Sooknanan, 39, as she was walking back to her car about 11:15 p.m., pulled her purse from her arm and threatened her with a knife. He then ran behind the bank.
