75 Years Ago

* The average temperature of 24.2 degrees in Anne Arundel County for January 1918 is the lowest in 101 years. The snowfall was 16 inches above average with more snow falling in January than any January on record. -- The Sun, Feb. 2, 1918.

* Anne Arundel oystermen have found a way to get catches tBaltimore when the bay and Severn River are frozen over. Very large auto-trucks are now using the fine boulevard connecting Annapolis and Baltimore by way of Brooklyn. -- The Sun, Feb. 2, 1918.

* Anne Arundel residents were reminded yesterday by Dr. Samuel Fort of the state Board of Health that all contagious diseases in their homes must be reported. Violators could pay a $100 fine or spend six months in jail. -- The Sun, Feb. 9, 1918.
