Cincinnati Reds -- Agreed to terms with 3B Willie Greene and OF William Canate on one-year contracts.

Colorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with P Butch Henry and C Eric Wedge on one-year contracts.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- Agreed to terms with P Albert Bustillos, P Javier Delahoya, P Chris Nichting and IF Eddie Pye on one-year contracts.

Minnesota Twins -- Agreed to terms with P Paul Abbott on a one-year contract.

Kickoff Classic -- The Associated Press reported that Florida State and Kansas will play Aug. 28 at Giants Stadium.

Clemson -- Confirmed that football coach Bobby Hatfield will not get an extension this year but would be eligible for one next year.

Colorado State -- Was ordered by U.S. District Judge Zita Weinshienk in Denver to reinstate its softball program after the school was found to have discriminated against women's athletic programs.

Georgia -- Announced that team orthopedist Dr. William Mulherin has confirmed the finding of NFL doctors that RB Garrison Hearst has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Lawrence -- Named Rick Coles football coach.

Missouri -- Named former player and assistant coach Curtis Jones tight ends and offensive line coach.

San Diego State -- Academic adviser Veston Thomas resigned amid allegations that football players improperly received community college credits that were later transferred to the university.

Stanford -- Named former Dallas Cowboys TE Doug Cosbie assistant offensive line coach and special teams assistant. Announced the resignation of running backs coach Bill Ring, who is returning to private business and will be replaced by special teams coach Bill Singler.

Tennessee -- Confirmed that football players Victor Brown, Aaron Hayden, Horace Morris and Leland Taylor have been suspended from school and will miss spring practice as a result of their part in a brawl on campus Jan. 17.

Cleveland Browns -- Waived OL Fred Childress. Announced that T Rick Trumbull has rejoined the team.

Houston Oilers -- Named Tom Bettis defensive backs coach.

Minnesota Vikings -- Announced they will keep their training camp at Mankato State after considering sites in Wisconsin and St. Cloud, Minn., because of poor field conditions at Mankato last year.

Golf

Cog Hill Golf and Country Club -- Facility in Lemont, Ill., announced it will be host to the Western Open, the nation's second-oldest tournament, through 2002.

Hockey

Los Angeles Kings -- Recalled C Robert Lang and C Marc Fortier from IHL Phoenix.

San Jose Sharks -- Placed RW Lyndon Byers on waivers for purposes of giving him his unconditional release. Recalled RW Ed Courtenay from IHL Kansas City. Sent D Pat MacLeod to Kansas City for conditioning purposes.

Louisville Icehawks (ECHL) -- Added G Mike Greenlay to the roster. Placed G Pat McGarry on the injured list, retroactive to Wednesday. Waived D Mike Boss.

Lacrosse

Thunder -- Activated F Travis Boone. Placed F Tom Stanziale on the injured list.

Soccer

Cleveland Crunch -- Placed M Tommy Tanner on the DL, retroactive to Feb. 7.
