What distinguishes a really good neighborhood from one that's merely so-so, in my opinion, is whether or not it has a first-rate pizza place that delivers. Zorba's fits that role for many folks in the Hamilton area. The Zorba Special pizza -- everything, including anchovies -- is outstanding ($9.95 small, $12.75 large). They also offer a Greek pizza (peppers, onions, feta cheese, $7.25 and $9.95) and a vegetarian pizza (everything except sausage, pepperoni and salami, $8.95 and $11.75).

But pizza is not the end of the offerings: Zorba's also offers nearly two dozen types of subs ($3.50 to $6.25 per half), more than a dozen sandwiches (including roast beef and turkey clubs, $1.75 to $4.95), six kinds of spaghetti (each about $5), four strombolis (all priced at $6), three salads, gyros, souvlaki and spinach pie (all under $5), and nine platters, including hot roast beef ($5.95), lasagna ($6.50), crab cake ($8.95) and seafood combination ($12.50). Not to mention barbecued chicken and ribs ($4.95-$8.95). They also make party trays and will prepare salads "for one to 50." Portions are quite generous and everything I've tried is pretty tasty.

And they deliver everything, including -- if you can prove you're 21 or over -- beer and a couple of unfussy wines (Paul Masson, Asti Spumante). (There's a $1 service charge for all deliveries.) It's great for those long winter evenings when all you can manage is to catch up on "Homicide" or watch a movie, and just want someone to bring you dinner and a couple of cold brews.
