Towson suspends reserve

February 19, 1993|By From Staff Reports

Andrew Mason, a reserve forward for Towson State, has been suspended for the rest of the season by coach Terry Truax for violating a team rule. Truax would not comment on the nature of the violation.

Mason, who remains a student at Towson State, had appeared in all but one of the Tigers' 23 games. He was averaging 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in about 10 minutes of playing time per game. A junior out of Oxon Hill High, Mason had scored a season-high 10 points in a one-sided loss at Oklahoma on Dec. 5.

Mason averaged 0.6 points as a freshman and 3.1 points in five minutes per game last season.
