New low: 11 degrees

A new low temperature -- 11 degrees -- was set today at Baltimore-Washington Internation Airport at 5 a.m., according to National Weather Service forecaster Bill Miller.

The previous record for this date was 13 degrees, set in 1979.

The city's overnight low at 5 a.m. was 10 degrees, 5 over the overnight low for this date set in 1903, Mr. Miller said.

Today will be sunny, with highs near 30. Light snow is forecast overnight but is expected to end by Saturday afternoon.
