BALTIMORE CITY

* THEFT: Central District -- A resident of the 7000 block of Deerfield Road in Pikesville, Baltimore County, was standing in the first block of W. Centre St. Wednesday when a man took $65 from his hand and fled.

* BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone entered an apartment in the first block of E. Mount Vernon Place Tuesday through a second-floor window off the fire escape and stole a VCR valued at more than $400.

* SHOOTING: Central District -- A resident of the 2000 block of Homewood Ave. was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center Tuesday night after he was shot in the left hand by an unknown person in the 100 block of E. North Ave. The victim was walking down the street about 6 p.m. when he heard the sound of gunshots and saw blood coming from his hand.

* ROBBERY TRY/ARRESTS: Central District -- Police arrested two men early Wednesday morning after they attempted to rob a resident of the 900 block of Argyle Ave. in the 700 block of W. Fayette St. The men were being held at the station pending charges.

* ROBBERY/STABBING: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St. was near his home Wednesday morning when he was forced into an alley by a man with a knife who robbed him of $20 and then stabbed him in the back. The victim was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

* BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1500 block of Edmondson Ave. Tuesday and stole a VCR, two TV sets and a microwave oven, all valued at more than $1,000.

* RAPE: Western District -- Police were seeking a man known as "James" in the rape of a woman Tuesday morning in a house in the 1100 block of W. Lexington St. The woman was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

* ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking three men who assaulted a resident of the first block of S. Pulaski St. in the 1000 block of W. Saratoga St. Wednesday and stabbed him in the left shoulder with a knife. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and released.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 900 block of Cherry Hill Road in South Baltimore was in the 700 block of W. Baltimore St. Tuesday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $3 and a necklace.

* STOLEN CAR: Western District -- A 1987 Pontiac with Maryland tags RTG177 was stolen from the 2100 block of Clifton Ave. Wednesday afternoon.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Classen Ave. was in the 4600 block of Reisterstown Road Wednesday night when a gunman robbed him of $50.

* ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 3200 block of Garrison Blvd. of a radio and jacket while the victim walked near her home about 2 a.m. Thursday.

* THEFT: Southeastern District -- Tools valued at $2,000 were stolen from a truck parked in the 200 block of S. Grundy St. Tuesday.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- Police were seeking three boys who stole a 1986 Chevrolet with Maryland tags AGW931 from the 3100 block of Old York Road Tuesday.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- More than $500 worth of glassware was stolen from a house in the 3800 block of Falls Road Tuesday by someone who entered through a window.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of N. Chester St. was waiting for a taxi in the 1000 block of Druid Park Lake Drive Tuesday night when two men, one with a handgun, robbed her of cash and jewelry, all valued at more than $1,000.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3600 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday through a window and stole three VCRs valued at $900.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Nearly $1,000 was stolen from a house in the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave. Tuesday night.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A 13-inch TV set, a VCR and a video game, all valued at more than $1,400, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2700 block of The Alameda by someone who entered through the front door.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* ROBBERY: Towson District -- Two men, one with a rifle or a sawed-off shotgun, robbed the Pizza Raven restaurant and carry-out in the 1000 block of Taylor Ave. of an undisclosed sum of cash about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

* ROBBERY/CUTTING: White Marsh District -- An 23-year-old employee of the Royal Farms store in the 8800 block of Philadelphia Road was released from Franklin Square Hospital Wednesday morning after treatment for a neck cut and a head injury received when he was attacked by two men who robbed the store of an undisclosed sum of money. After a man with a knife ordered the employee to give up the money in the cash register, a second man struck the employee over the head from behind with a hard object. The man with the knife then cut the employee, and one of the assailants took money from the cash register.
