Johns Hopkins University clinched the Middle Atlantic Conference Southeast League championship with a 57-52 overtime win over Widener University here last night.
Center Lou Sabad scored 10 of his 16 points and grabbed five of his seven rebounds in the first half as the Blue Jays (18-5, 9-0) won their 12th straight game.
Widener (13-10, 7-2) used its active zone defense to come back in the second half.
Guard John Alligretti came off the bench to make a key steal with Hopkins down three late in the second half. He was intentionally fouled twice and made four free throws.
Hopkins forward Luke Busby later scored five of his 16 points in overtime to put Hopkins ahead for keeps.
