ROBBERY/STABBING: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St. was near his home Wednesday morning when he was forced into an alley by a man who robbed him of $20 and then stabbed him in the back with a knife. The victim was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone and stole a cassette player and tapes, all valued at more than $400, from a car parked in the 1400 block of W. Lexington St. Tuesday.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1500 block of Edmondson Ave. Tuesday and stole a VCR, two TVs and a microwave oven, all valued at more than $1,000.

BREAK-IN/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man Tuesday after he entered the Astoria Club in the 1300 block of Edmondson Ave. through a rear door.

RAPE: Western District -- Police were seeking a man known as "James" in the rape of a woman Tuesday morning in a house in the 1100 block of W. Lexington St. The woman was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Someone stole a raincoat valued at $150 Tuesday from the trunk of a Toyota parked in the 900 block of E. Pratt St.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Tools valued at $2,000 were stolen from a truck parked in the 200 block of S. Grundy St. Tuesday.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A car owned by a resident of the 5700 block of Utrecht Road in Baltimore County was parked in the 500 block of S. Haven St. Tuesday when someone forced a vent window and stole power and hand tools, all valued at more than $700.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of N. Chester St. was waiting for a taxi in the 1000 block of Druid Park Lake Drive Tuesday night when two men, one with a handgun, robbed her of cash and jewelry, all valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Property valued at $50 was stolen from a house in the 2400 block of St. Paul St. Tuesday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3600 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday through a window and stole three VCRs valued at $900.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Nearly $1,000 was stolen from a house in the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave. Tuesday night.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A 13-inch TV, a VCR and a video game, all valued at more than $1,400, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2700 block of the Alameda by someone who entered through the front door.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A vacuum cleaner, power and hand tools and a CB radio, all valued at nearly $500, were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of E. 35th St. Tuesday.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY/CUTTING: White Marsh District -- An 23-year-old employee of the Royal Farms store in the 8800 block of Philadelphia Road was released from Franklin Square Hospital Wednesday morning following treatment for a neck cut and a head injury after he was attacked by two men who robbed the store of an undisclosed sum of money. After a man with a knife ordered the employee to give up the money in the cash register, a second man struck the employee over the head from behind with a hard object. The man with the knife then cut the employee, and one of the assailants took money from the cash register.

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- A man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed I Can't Believe It's Yogurt in the 1400 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum of money Wednesday night.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Two men, one with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed the Waterbed Way in the 8000 block of Liberty Road Wednesday night of less than $100. After one of the men placed items on the counter as though to purchase them, his accomplice pointed the weapon at an employee and demanded money from the cash register. Both men escaped on foot.

CUTTING/ARRESTS: Towson District -- Police arrested two men Wednesday morning in the cutting of a resident of the 8300 block of Oakleigh Road. When the victim answered a knock at his door around 3 a.m., one of two men assaulted him and tried to enter. When the occupant attempted to shut the door, one of the men cut him on the wrist. A short time later, Officer David Jacoby spotted a car headed south on Perring Parkway occupied by two men who fit the descriptions of persons wanted for the incident and arrested them. Charged with assault with intent to murder were Mark Mitchell, 26, of the 1300 block of Pentridge Road, and Daniel Singer, 19, of the 3100 block of Mary Ave. Mr. Mitchell was denied bail and is being held at the Detention Center. Mr. Singer was released on his own recognizance. The victim was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital.

HARFORD COUNTY

THEFT: Bel Air -- Upon returning to her previous home in the 900 block of Millstone Court, a resident of Elkton discovered that someone had stolen a Persian rug, floral arrangements and a marble table, all zvalued at nearly $700. The theft occurred late last year but was not reported until Wednesday, police said.
