* Mount Airy: Firefighters at the Mount Airy station responded to four calls between 6:05 p.m. Monday and 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday.

The first alarm was for a brush fire on Route 144.

The next call at 6:53 p.m. was for an open telephone line on a 911 call. Firefighters went to the home where the call was made, but found no fire.

At 3:35 a.m. the Mount Airy volunteers were dispatched to assist

Frederick County firefighters at a house fire on East Main Street in New Market. Three minutes later, an additional engine was transferred from Mount Airy to the New Market fire station. They were out for 20 minutes.
