His accomplishments: Brian is president of the Student Government Association and legislative liaison committee chairman for the Howard County Association of Student Council. He is a student representative to the Board of Education and a member of the varsity basketball team and the National Honor Society.

He is a peer mediator and a French Club member. He was last year's student ambassador to the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Seminar and helped persuade the County Council to change the law on bicycle helmets.

Outside school, he is a Little League baseball coach and volunteers in the Christmas in April program.

Last year, he won the Howard County Student Community Award from the Columbia Business Exchange and the Maryland Young Volunteer of the Year from the Veterans of Foreign War.

His comments: Politics is a means. Being involved in public service gives me a way to provide service to my community.

Future: He wants to enter public service after graduating from college. "My eventual goal is someday to become the president of the United States, but that's a long-, long-term goal."
