SHOWS

Through March 14: Ward Foundation exhibit of Birds of the Chesapeake, paintings by John W. Taylor in Salisbury. Call the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, (410) 742-4988.

Today: Last day of Chesapeake Bay Boat Show at the Baltimore Convention Center. Hundreds of boats, engines and marine accessories on sale at show prices. Show opens at 11 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Today: Last day of Seaside Boat Show, Convention Center, Ocean City. Show opens at 11 a.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children.

Through tomorrow: Eastern Sports, Boating, Camping, Travel and Outdoor Show at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa. Retail exhibits, fishing and hunting demonstrations, knife-throwing and tomahawk-throwing contests and auctions. Show opens at 10 a.m. today and 11 a.m. tomorrow. Admission is $9 for adults, $2 for children from 6 to 12 and children under 6 will be admitted free.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Feb. 26-28: Maryland Recreational Vehicle Show at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. Comprehensive show displaying newest RVs and associated products in the Mid-Atlantic region. Show opens at noon each day. Admission is $6 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free.

FISHING

Today: Fisherman's flea market sponsored by Laurel Team Bassmasters, American Legion Post 60, 2 Main St., Laurel. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $3 donation for entrance. Call (301) 490-0232.

Tomorrow: Meeting of the Caroline County Chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association at the American Legion Hall outside Denton, 7:30 p.m. John Forrester of DNR will speak on 1993 fishing regulations. The public is welcome.

Tuesday: Meeting of the Middle River Chapter of MSSA, Commodore Hall, 1909 Old Eastern Ave., Essex, 7:30 p.m. Capt. Charles Reicher Jr. of Pasadena will talk about fishing for striped bass. The public is welcome. Call (410) 327-7923.

Tuesday: Meeting of the Carroll County Chapter of MSSA at Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club, 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

HUNTING

Feb. 27: Wildlife habitat workshop sponsored by the Wildlife Division of the Department of Natural Resources and the Southern Maryland Chapter of Quail Unlimited at Izaak Walton League in Hughesville, Charles County, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Discussion of new and old views on upland game habitat and BTC the related decline of many species of upland wildlife. Special guest speaker will be Jef Hodges from Missouri. Hodges is an expert in Native Warm-season Grasses, which have been crucial to the resurgence of quail, pheasant and other grassland birds in the Midwest. BOATING

Tuesday, Wednesday, Feb. 22: Registration for safe boating (power and sail) and coastal navigation courses offered by the Pasadena (17) Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary at Pikesville High School, 7621 Labyrinth Road, 7:30 p.m. Classes will run every Monday night for 10 weeks beginning Feb. 22.
