Nye's free throws lift S. River Girls basketball

Freshman Amy Nye made both ends of a one-and-one with six seconds left to lead South River (6-12) over Northeast, 63-61, in Anne Arundel County action yesterday. Cassidie Dunbar led South River with 21 points, and Erin Early had 17 rebounds.

* Annapolis 51, Chesapeake-AA 41: Shannon Henderson scored 24 as No. 18 Annapolis (15-3, 4-1) defeated host Chesapeake (9-8, 2-3), 51-41, in an Anne Arundel County Friendship Division game. Lori Wlordarczyk led Chesapeake with 17.

* Old Mill 71, Glen Burnie 30: Anne Chicorelli scored 12 and Stacy Himes added 10 as No. 2 Old Mill (16-1, 6-0) defeated host Glen Burnie (6-12, 1-5) in an Anne Arundel County Friendship Divsion game.

* City 49, Dunbar 37: Elana Levin scored 25 and Kelly Franklin added 16 as host City (9-8, 6-6) defeated Dunbar in a City-Wide 4A League game. Kendra Hawes led the Poets with 14 points.

* Arundel 50, North County 18: Alina Smith scored 14 and Sarah Melby added 13, leading visiting Arundel past North County in an Anne Arundel County Bay Division contest.

* Poly 88, Northern 14: The Engineers had four in double figures, including Kelly Logan and Kenya Holman with 11 each, as they beat Northern.

* Granite Baptist 53, Victory Christian 31: Michele Tanner scored 19 and had 12 rebounds and Stephanie Donaldson scored 17 and had three steals as Granite Baptist (7-6) defeated Victory Christian (2-12).

* Broadneck 61, Queen Anne's 25: Missy Lewandowski scored 16 as Broadneck (11-7, 6-1) defeated visiting Queen Anne's (1-14, 0-7) in an Anne Arundel County Bay Division game.
