Lisbon man stabbed in domestic fight

A 31-year-old Lisbon man was stabbed Monday night in a fight with his girlfriend and her brother-in-law, a resident of the Mount Airy area, Howard County police said.

Eric Odell Lainer, of the 1900 block of Route 94, was flown by state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

He was listed in fair and stable condition yesterday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The fight occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Mr. Lainer and his girlfriend, police said.

Carolyn Griffin, 35, and her brother-in-law, Greg Foels, 24, of the 1700 block of Florence Road near Mount Airy, were arguing with Mr. Lainer, police said.

Mr. Lainer allegedly struck Mr. Foels in the face with a pipe, police said.

While the two men continued to fight, Ms. Griffin allegedly stabbed Mr. Lainer, police said.

Ms. Griffin was taken into custody Monday night for questioning, but was not charged, police said.


* Mount Airy: Mount Airy and New Windsor fire units responded to assist Frederick County for a chimney fire on Peddicord Road at 7:49 p.m. Tuesday.


* Woodbine: An electrical garage door at a house in the 15500 block of Bushy Tail Run was tampered with between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday. Someone entered the garage, took a key to enter the house and stole a stereo, videocassette recorder, video camera and jewelry box.
