Libson man hospitalized after stabbing at home

A 31-year-old Lisbon man was stabbed Monday night in a fight with his girlfriend and her brother-in-law, Howard County police said.

Eric Odell Lainer of the 1900 block of Route 94 was flown by state police helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was listed in fair and stable condition yesterday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The fight occurred about 9:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Mr. Lainer and his girlfriend, police said.

Carolyn Griffin, 35, and her brother-in-law, Greg Foels, 24, of the 1700 block of Florence Road, Mount Airy, got into an argument with Mr. Lainer, police said.

At one point during the argument, Mr. Lainer allegedly struck Mr. Foels in the face with a pipe, police said.

While the two men continued to fight, Ms. Griffin allegedly stabbed Mr. Lainer, police said.

She was taken into custody Monday night and questioned but not charged, police said. An investigation continues.
