Jaycees give $1,500 to Hopkins Children's Center

At their most recent membership meeting, the Elkridge Area Jaycees presented a check for $1,500 to representatives of the Johns Hopkins Chidren's Center in Baltimore.

The money was raised through the organization's annual Santa Visits program. The Jaycees accepted donations for visits by Santa and an elf in December.

POLICE

* Ellicott City: : 10000 block of Frederick Road: Someone stole four wheels valued at $200 each and four tires valued at $100 each from a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier between 3 p.m. Friday and 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

* 8600 block of Baltimore National Pike: Someone threw oil on the front door of Family and Children's Services between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 p.m. Friday.

* 3000 block of Oak Green Circle: Someone tampered with the driver's door lock and the steering column in a vehicle between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 31 and 1:40 p.m. Wednesday.

4700 block of Leyden Way: Someone stole a $30 heavy-duty dark green trash can about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.
