City police were searching last night for a 7-year-old East Baltimore boy who was last seen Thursday with a friend of his mother's.

Mary Davis, 32, of the 1400 block of N. Gay St. told police that her son, Delroy Headley, left her house with her friend Alexis Whelcher, 31, about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

zTC Ms. Whelcher's son, Dennie Taylor, 4, was with them and is also missing, said Detective James Wiley of the Police Department's missing persons unit.

"The mother has not seen or heard from them since," Detective Wiley said. Ms. Davis reported her son missing yesterday.

Ms. Whelcher and her son had lived with Ms. Davis and her son since October, police said. The boy had accompanied Ms. Whelcher on errands to the store before, Detective Wiley said.

The Headley boy is described as black with a medium complexion, 4 feet 8 inches tall, about 80 pounds. He was last seen wearing Nike sneakers, blue jeans and a gray sweater.

Ms. Whelcher is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds. She wears her hair in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a white coat and a peach-colored sweater.

Anyone with information is asked to call the missing persons unit at 396-2335.
