Matthews, Milford Mill upend No. 18 Towson, 62-53

Senior forward Yolanda Matthews paced host Milford Mill (12-4, 9-2) with 30 points as the Millers upset No. 18 Towson (9-3), 62-53, in a Baltimore County 2A-1A League game yesterday. Senior center Ebonie Richardson added 19 points for the Millers.

* Northeast 80, Queen Anne's 50: Jen Johansen scored a game-high 27 (7-of-10 from three-point range, an Anne Arundel County record for three-pointers in a game) as Northeast (8-9) beat Queen Anne's. Sophomore teammate Jamie Pleyo scored 22 points, including four three-pointers.

* Chesapeake-AA 52, Glen Burnie 38: Senior guard Denise Perrone's 15 points led Chesapeake-AA (9-6, 2-2) over visiting Glen Burnie (5-11, 1-3) in a Friendship Division game. Perrone also added 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior guard Bridget Davis led Glen Burnie with 15.

* Southern-AA 34, Arundel 30: With Southern (9-7, 7-0) up by two, Laekeka Wesley scored on an offensive rebound from a missed one-and-one to secure the win over visiting Arundel (9-7, 4-3). Wesley led Southern with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Alina Smith led Arundel with a game-high 16.

* South River 51, North County 39: Forward Pam Patterson scored 26 to lead South River over host North County (5-9).

* Howard 76, Glenelg 44: Emily Moore scored 21, Sharon Ford had 18 and Camille Powell added 17 as No. 9 Howard (12-4, 6-2) beat visiting Glenelg in a Howard County game.

* F.S. Key 47, Walkersville 44. Shelley Smith scored 18 points as Francis Scott Key (7-9) rallied from a three-point third-period deficit to down host Walkersville.

* City 56, Dunbar 43: Sophomore Elana Levin led all scorers with 20 points as visiting City defeated Dunbar (4-8, 4-6).

* Franklin 63, Catonsville 56: Senior forward Jaimie Darr led Franklin (9-6) with 15-points as they defeated host Catonsville (10-5, 10-5) in a Baltimore County League game. Senior forward Carey Shockney led Catonsville with 19.

* John Carroll 59, Joppatowne 22: Senior guard Amy Dean led all scorers with 16 as host John Carroll (7-10, 4-8) beat visiting Joppatowne.

* Patapsco 44, Chesapeake-BC 27: Melanie Moskowitz scored 16 to lead Patapsco past Chesapeake in a Baltimore County 2A-1A game.

* Loch Raven 59, Owings Mills 31: Shelly Klaes scored a game-high 15 as No. 10 Loch Raven (13-0) beat Owings Mills.

* Forest Park 57, Northern 18: Sherri Anderson scored 21 as host Forest Park (8-5) beat Northern.

* Parkville 35, Kenwood 30: Kelly Lemley and Sallie Neal scored eight each to lead Parkville (8-7) past Kenwood (4-10).

* Lake Clifton 81, Mervo 17: Natisha Ferguson had 27 points and 23 rebounds and teammate Tammy Lea had 19 points and 20 rebounds to lead the No. 13 Lakers (13-5) past the Mustangs.

* Pikesville 60, Sparrows Point 32: Junior forward Colby Feldman led Pikesville (6-6, 6-6) with 18 points as the Panthers beat visiting

Sparrows Point.

* Carver 52, Northwestern 50: With Carver up by one and eight seconds left, freshman guard Vida Milberry made the front end of a one-and-one to lift host Carver (10-4, 10-2) over Northwestern. Milberry led all scorers with 24 points.

* Southwestern 45, Douglass 19: Quay Galloway scored 16 and Lisa Watford added 15 points and 11 steals to help host Southwestern (6-8, 6-6) defeat Douglass (2-11, 1-11) in a City-Wide 3A-2A game.

* Garrison Forest 32, St. Paul's School for Girls 21: Liza Shoemaker and Sarah Morse each scored eight to lead visiting Garrison Forest.

* Harford Christian 52, Lancaster Country Day 34: Laura Thomas scored a game-high 22 to lead Harford Christian (21-0) past Lancaster Country Day School.
