MURDER TRY/ARREST: Southern District -- Raymond Pieczymski, 33, of the 300 block of S. Payson St., was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with assault with intent to murder Paula Jo Luce, 19, of the same address, who was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center with a broken arm and a possible fractured skull. Miss Luce was found bleeding from head wounds believed caused by a blackjack that was `f recovered under a mattress in a hallway inside the house. The woman's left arm also was broken. Mr. Pieczymski also was charged with assault, possession of a deadly weapon, possession of cocaine and PCP. He was held at the police station without bail pending a bail review hearing in District Court.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Southern District -- Police arrested a 29-year-old man Monday in connection with the burglary of a garage in the 2100 block of Maisel St. and the theft of a radio and tools from a car parked inside. After making the arrest, police recovered the property.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A telephone and lamps, all valued at more than $200, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2100 block of Hollins Ferry Road by someone who entered through a door. The ex-girlfriend of the victim was being sought in connection with the incident.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Joseph Ave. was in the 3300 block of Annapolis Road Tuesdsay when he was assaulted by a man who robbed him of $50.

BURGLARY TRY: Southern District -- A man was attempting to break into a house in the 2800 block of Booker Drive Tuesday morning but fled when a nearby resident saw him and called the police.

ARSON/ARREST: Central District -- An unidentified man is set to undergo psychiatric tests following his arrest early today on suspicion he set fire to a house in the 2100 block of Bolton St. No injuries were reported in the 12:18 a.m. fire that caused moderate damage to the house. It was not known if the house was occupied.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Cliftmont Ave. was robbed of nearly $200 Monday morning by two men who attacked him inside his home.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3100 block of White Ave. Tuesday afternoon and stole a VCR and stereo equipment, all valued at $310.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone broke a window of a car parked in the 1500 block of W. North Ave. Tuesday and stole a radar detector valued at more than $200.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two female residents of the 2000 block of Westwood Ave. were in the 2200 block of Walbrook Ave. Tuesday afternoon when a gunman robbed them of a total of nearly $400.

CUTTING: Western District -- Police were seeking a female resident of the 2400 block of Winchester St. who cut a resident of the 1800 block of Harlem Ave. on his arm Tuesday morning during an incident inside the victim's home.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Two teen-aged boys were arguing with a younger youth about a book bag in the 300 block of N. Stricker St. Tuesday afternoon when one of the pair pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot. The younger boy escaped unharmed.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a woman Tuesday afternoon who attempted to leave the Super Pride store in the 2000 block of W. Lafayette Ave. without paying for property valued at about $7.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 600 block of N. Carrollton Ave. of nearly $300 in the 2800 block of Clifton Ave. Tuesday afternoon.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Towson District -- A man who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed Wang's Restaurant in the 500 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
