Accomplishments: He is vice president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Class Board. He is enrolled in the school's mentor program, in which he interns at Union Memorial Hospital.

He lettered in varsity cross country and in varsity baseball. He participated in the canned-food drive and volunteered at the Hebron House and the Linwood school for the disabled.

He is the school winner in the Century III Leaders scholarship program and was an honorable mention in the Maryland Distinguished Scholar Program.

Outside of school, he plays in the Howard County Youth Program Baseball League and participated in the Winter Growth walk-a-thon.

Comments: "Students should be concerned about racism. A lot of times, people don't understand different cultures and different ways of doing things. They haven't been taught or haven't learned.

"I see some problems at my high school: the lack of understanding among black and white and Asian students -- nothing really big, but I see problems."

His goals: He wants to study medicine at the University of New Hampshire, Bucknell, Colgate, Princeton, Duke, College of William & Mary or Brown.
