Four arrested in North Laurel on drug charges

An 18-year-old Hyattsville man and a juvenile were charged with drug distribution and possession after they allegedly sold 4 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover detective at a motel in North Laurel, Howard County police said.

Calvin Green of the 4900 block of 55th Place in Hyattsville was charged with possession and distribution of cocaine, and is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail at the Howard County Detention Center, a detention officer said.

A 17-year-old Lanham youth was also charged with possession and distribution of cocaine, police said. His name was not released because he was charged as a juvenile.

Police said the crack cocaine was sold to an undercover detective in a motel room in the 9700 block of Washington Boulevard Thursday night. The two were arrested when they left the room.

Police also said they found 5 grams of crack cocaine and about $200 in a 1990 Toyota Tercel outside the motel. Two underage Silver Spring girls who were waiting in the car also were charged with possession and distribution of cocaine, police said.
