SHOWS

Through March 14: Ward Foundation exhibit of Birds of the Chesapeake, paintings by John W. Taylor in Salisbury. Call the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, (410) 742-4988.

Today: Last day of International Auto Show at the Baltimore Convention Center. Show includes section of four-wheel drive vehicles and recreational vehicles. Show opens at noon. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Today: Last day of Philadelphia Boat Show, Philadelphia Civic Center. Boats and accessories, water skiing clinics and fishing seminars. Speakers include Woo Daves, Randall Romig and Denny Brauer. Show opens at 11 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Today: Last day of The Fly Fishing Show at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, N.J. Billed as the largest fly fishing show in the world. Hundreds of exhibitors including guide services, rod and reel manufacturers and vendors, fly-tying materials and expertise. Show opens at 9 a.m. Seminars by Lefty Kreh, Gary LaFontaine, Dick Talleur, Ed Jaworowski), Bob Clouser, Gary Borger and others. Show hours are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. om Friday, with openings at 9 a.m. the other two days. Admission on Friday is $5 and $10 on Saturday and Sunday. Call (800) 848-1020.

Thursday through Sunday: Sail Expo at the Atlantic City (N.J.) Convention Center. A show especially for newcomers to sailing, but also a comprehensive display of boats, equipment and accessories from all major builders. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Admission for adults is $15 per day or $25 for multi-day admission. Children under 12 will be admitted free.

FISHING

Wednesday: Monthly meeting of the Kent Island chapter of the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association at the American Legion Hall on Route 8 near Stevensville at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

HUNTING/SHOOTING

Through Feb. 10: Snow goose season, 4 per day.

Wednesday and Saturday: Hunter safety education course at the Howard County Fairgrounds. Wednesday, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Preregistration required, $2 fee and limit of 60 students. Call (410) 549-4963.

BOATING

Wednesday, Feb. 10, 17: Sail making seminar at Shore Sails in Annapolis, 7 p.m. Comprehensive look at process and techniques of sail making. Call (410) 269-8998.

HIKING/CLIMBING

Wednesday: MCM hike along the Northern Central Railroad bed. Call (410) 358-5995.

Saturday: MCM hike along the Mason Dixon Trail and the Susquehanna River. Call (410) 740-9754.
