AColorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with IF Roberto Mejia, IF Jim Tatum and P Keith Shepherd. Announced that NBC broadcaster Charlie Jones will be the television play-by-play announcer for 67 of the 80 telecasts.

Minnesota Twins -- Announced that they will move their Double-A team from Orlando, Fla., to Nashville, Tenn., and remain in the Southern League. The Xpress will share Herschel Greer Stadium with the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, and will be owned by George Shinn, who also owns the NBA's Charlotte Hornets.

Oakland Athletics -- Named Dick Stockton, a vetera broadcaster for CBS Sports, television play-by-play announcer.

Basketball

Minnesota Timberwolves- activated G Lance Blanks from thinjured list.Placed G. Gundears Vetra on the injured list.

Colleges

Western Montana -- Named Bob Beers, a former offensive

coordinator for the Frankfurt Galaxy of the World League, football coach.

Hockey

Boston Bruins -- Recalled RW Tim Sweeney from AHL Providence.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Assigned LW Jeff Daniels and D Peter Ahola to IHL Cleveland.

American Hockey Association -- League based in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin announced it is suspending operations because it has been unsuccessful in trying to find additional financing.
