75 Years Ago

* The House of Delegates is Republican for the first time in several decades while the Senate remains Democratic, 14 votes to 13. There is a mandate to meet the first Wednesday in January. -- The Sun, Jan. 2, 1918.

* Milk has increased in price from 9 cents per quart to 18 cents in Annapolis in the past 18 months. In Baltimore, the price is 13 cents per quart. -- The Sun, Jan. 4, 1918.

* For the first time in years, an iceberg has formed off Bay Ridge where the land makes toward Arundel-on-the-Bay. It is some 12 to 15 feet in height and has attracted hundreds of people. -- Anne Arundel County Kuethe Library files, Jan. 14, 1918.

* All males over the age of 14 who are citizens or subjects of the German Empire must register in Annapolis as enemy aliens. -- The Sun, Jan. 15, 1918.
