Wilde Lake man charged with three burglaries

A 32-year-old Wilde Lake man has been charged in connection with three burglaries in east Columbia this month, police said.

Lorenzo Leon Brown of the 10000 block of Daystar Court was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Daystar Court address, where he rents a room.

Police charged him with three counts of burglary, three counts of theft and three counts of destruction of property, police said.

He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bond at the Howard County Detention Center, a detention officer said.

Police said they believe he is responsible for a break-in Jan. 20 in the 9800 block of Push Cart Way, in Oakland Mills, in which jewelry and a camera were stolen.

Police believe that he also stole a VCR during a break-in Jan. 22 in the 6300 block of Tinted Hill Court, and stole jewelry during a burglary the same day in the 6400 block of Tawny Bloom Court, both in Owen Brown.

Investigators say they linked Mr. Brown to the break-ins after a citizen gave police the name of a man who appeared to have stolen items in his possession, police said.

During their investigation, police recovered stolen jewelry and electronic equipment.

An investigation continues, police said.
