Atlanta Braves -- Named Paul Runge manager of Rookie League Idaho Falls.

Cleveland Indians -- Agreed to terms with 1B Paul Sorrento on a three-year contract.

Colorado Rockies -- Agreed to terms with P Ryan Hawblitzel, P Marcus Moore, P Armando Reynoso, P Steve Reed, C Brad Ausmus, C. J. Owens and IF Eric Young on one-year contracts.

Florida Marlins -- Signed P Joe Klink to a minor-league contract and invited him to spring training.

Kansas City Royals -- Agreed to terms with OF Hubie Brooks, P Frank DiPino and C Mike Knapp on minor-league contracts.

San Diego Padres -- Announced that P Greg Harris had two pins removed from the right middle finger Tuesday and should be back to full strength in a week to 10 days.

NBA -- Fined Philadelphia 76ers center Manute Bol $3,500 for throwing a punch in a game on Jan. 26.

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference -- Announced that the Jan. 11 men's basketball game between Morgan State and North Carolina A&T, suspended because of a brawl among the players, will not be resumed, making Morgan State the winner, 35-31.

Bowling Green -- Announced that DB Joe Bair has given up football because of a compression vertebra fracture sustained in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Brown -- Named Laurie Geromini women's assistant lacrosse coach.

Duquesne -- Announced that senior F Mark Gilbert, who has a heart condition that can cause a sudden drop in pulse and blood pressure, has quit the basketball team.

Kansas -- Announced that basketball F Darrin Hancock, a starter, will have laser surgery on both eyes to repair a series of retinal tears and will be out for a week.

Morningside -- Named Greg Lees football coach.

Southern Cal -- Named Don Lindsey (who had been hired originally as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach) defensive coordinator and linebackers coach to replace Mike Nolan, who joined the New York Giants.

NB Texas -- Reinstated G Terrence Rencher to the basketball team.

Denver Broncos -- Promoted secondary coach Charlie Waters to defensive coordinator.

New York Giants -- Named former Denver Broncos assistant Mike Nolan defensive coordinator.

New York Jets -- Announced that Mo Forte, running backs coach, has resigned for personal reasons.

Hockey

Vancouver Canucks -- Assigned G Mike Fountain to the Canadian Olympic team. Promoted G Jason Fitzsimmons from ECHL Columbus to AHL Hamilton.
