* Long Reach:: 6300 block of Loring Drive: Someone broke a vent window on a 1989 Ford truck between 8 p.m. last Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday and stole a $375 electric nailer, a $400 electric nailer, a $10 saw and a $100 drill.

8900 block of Sidelong Place: Someone stole four tires valued at $480 and four 15-inch chrome rims from a 1986 Toyota truck between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

8800 block of Spiral Cut Lane: Someone forced open a door between 7:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Friday, and stole electronic equipment and clothes. Police arrested James Ernest, 24, of the 10600 block of White Rock Court in Laurel, and charged him with breaking and entering and theft.

* Oakland Mills:: 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road: Someone tried to steal a 1992 Ford Mustang between 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. The would-be thief cut the steering wheel to removed a steering wheel lock. The ignition was also damaged.

9500 block of Basket Ring Road: A 1989 Ford Mustang was stolen between 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The car was recovered on Route 100 at 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

930 block of Farewell Road: A tan 1992 Toyota Corolla was stolen between 11 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. The Maryland license number is 2LT-339.

* Owen Brown:: 7400 block of Broken Staff: Someone stole four tires valued at $400 from a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle between 10 p.m. last Wednesday and 10 p.m. Thursday, and left the car on four cinder blocks.

6500 block of Pressed Gentian: Someone cut a padlock to a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo truck and stole a $350 mounted tire between midnight and 4 a.m. Friday.
