SHOOTING/ARRESTS: Western District -- Shane Chase, 14, of the 300 block of S. Fulton Ave., and Gary Smith, 17, of the 1500 block of Presstman St., were arrested Monday and charged in the shooting of Carl Sanders, 14, of the 1600 block of Norwick Road. The victim reported he was shot by a gunman at Lafayette and Fremont avenues. Later, the youths said they were in a second-floor room at 809 N. Fremont Ave. when a .38-caliber revolver the Chase youth was handling went off, striking the victim in the upper right chest. The victim is listed in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The Chase youth was being held without bail and young Smith is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, pending bail review hearings.

ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- A gunman attempted to rob a resident of the 1200 block of W. North Ave. in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. Monday but fled when the woman told him she had no money.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1400 block of Gusryan St. was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center after being shot in the leg by a man with a shotgun in the 1800 block of Harlem Ave. Sunday afternoon.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Police were seeking a man known as "Jo Jo" in the shooting of a resident of the 500 block of Orchard St. in the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. about 5 p.m. Sunday. The victim was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center for a shotgun wound to the hand.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 1800 block of Braddish Ave. of a purple coat valued at $250 near the victim's home Friday.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of N. Bentalou St. Monday afternoon and stole a compact disc player valued at more than $500.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A VCR, compact disc player, telephone and a watch, all valued at more than $2,000, were stolen Monday morning from a house in the 2600 block of W. Lafayette Ave.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of N. Bethel St. is in stable condition at Sinai Hospital after being shot in the left hip by a gunman in the 1600 block of Mountmor Court Sunday evening.

THEFT: Western District -- A 13-inch TV valued at $200 was stolen from a house in the 1800 block of Braddish Ave. over the weekend and police were seeking a suspect who is known by the victim.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A snow blower was stolen from a storage shed in the 4500 block of Powell Ave. over the weekend.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered an apartment in the 4300 block of Clareway through a bedroom window over the weekend and stole four lamps.

AUTO THEFT:AUTO THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 1985 Toyota pickup truck was stolen from the 1300 block of Pentwood Road Monday.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone entered a basement apartment in the 200 block of E. Eager St. Sunday afternoon and stole 25 compact discs, coins, 10 sweaters, cologne and a 35mm camera, all valued at more than $1,000.

ROBBERY: Central District -- An out-of-town resident was robbed of cash and property, all valued at $256, in the 200 block of Water St. Sunday evening by a man with an unknown weapon.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A man with an unknown weapon robbed a resident of the 6000 block of Barton Road of cash and property, all valued at nearly $400, Sunday night in the first block of N. Howard Street.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one armed with a stick, robbed a resident of the 1100 block of E. 43rd St. of a portable radio and money Saturday morning in the 100 block of N. Greene St.

BREAK-IN: Central District -- Someone entered a storage shed in the 2000 block of N. Charles St. over the weekend and stole property valued at $135.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Property valued at $40 was stolen from the Midtown Church Community Thrift Shop in the 2000 block of St. Paul St. over the weekend.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone entered the room of an out-of-town guest at the YMCA in the 100 block of W. Franklin St. over the weekend and stole a leather coat valued at $200.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A 9-year-old resident of the 1200 block of McCulloh St. was robbed of her mountain bike near her home Monday afternoon by a man who pushed her to the ground.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A VCR, compact disc player and several compact discs, all valued at more than $500, were stolen from an apartment in the 1300 block of Eutaw Place Monday.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A microwave oven valued at $335 was stolen from a house in the 1800 block of W. Lombard St. Monday.

THEFT: Southern District -- Bowling equipment valued at nearly $300 was stolen from a car parked in the 700 block of W. Hamburg St. Monday.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Stereo equipment valued at more than $2,000 was stolen from an apartment in the 3600 block of Third St. Monday afternoon.
