Six arrested in crackdown in parks

County police arrested six men Friday and Saturday in an effort to crack down on lewd activities in public parks in the Dorsey Road area.

Undercover officers from the Northern and Western District stations worked in Saw Mill Creek Park, Friendship Park and Queenstown Park.

David Dean Anderson, 40, of the 100 block of Mountain Road in Glen Burnie was charged with solicitation and trespassing. Barry Lee Bloomquist, 45, of the 7100 block of Honeyladen Court in Columbia, was charged with solicitation, indecent exposure and having an open container in a park.

Frank Liffman, 40, of the 9300 block of Spring House Lane in Laurel, was charged with two counts of solicitation and indecent exposure. M. G. Hayes, 49, of the first block of Maryland Avenue in Annapolis, was charged with indecent exposure. Gerald R. Kennedy, 30, of the 200 block of Waycross Road in Arnold, was charged with indecent exposure. Bobby B. Waterman, of the 7900 block of Telegraph Road in Odenton, was charged with solicitation and indecent exposure.

Diamond rings stolen from store

Diamond rings worth a total of $18,353 were stolen from a locked display case at the S&N Katz Jewelry store in Harundale Mall Thursday between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., county police reported.

Information desk for federal retirees

The Glen Burnie Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees will staff an information desk at the Pascal Senior Center on Dorsey Road on Feb. 2.

It will be staffed from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday.

Volunteers will provide assistance on benefits-related matters to federal retirees and their families.


* Glen Burnie: Burglars broke into a 1988 Toyota Pick-up truck that was parked in the 1100 block of Notingham Drive Thursday and took tools and other property valued at about $500.
