Accomplishments: She is president of the Student Government Association and co-founder of Junior States of America at her school. She acts as a student liaison for the PTSA executive board and sits on the executive board of the Howard County Association of Student Councils. She is active on the Human Relations Committee and Class Board, and in the National Honor Society.

She also is involved in the Red Cross blood and canned-food drives, and the Adopt-A-Highway program. She played for the varsity soccer team and the varsity tennis team. She is a member of the French Club and will be in the spring musical, "My Fair Lady."

Outside of school, she volunteers to help disabled children and senior citizens. She also serves food at various soup kitchens with her church youth group. Last year, she was selected to go the Maryland High School Leadership Convention, and she attended the Junior Statesmen Convention.

Her comments: "I have to have a voice. I just can't sit back and let things go. A lot of students now see things are wrong, but they don't do anything."I've grown so much from freshman year to senior year. My principal always urged me to be the best I could be and supported me to do whatever I wanted to do. All the faculty are my friends."

Her goals: She hopes to study medicine at the Johns Hopkins University, Princeton, Brown or Bucknell.
