The Baltimore County Medical Association presented its second annual Physician's Community Service Award to Dr. Theodore C. Patterson.

Yael Lehman and Ann-Elizabeth Simanis have been elected to the Phi Beta Kappa chapter at Goucher College.

Clare Siegel, pediatric HIV project coordinator for Baltimore City Head Start Program, received an Administrator's Citation from the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) in Washington.

Kelly Cavallio, a senior at Notre Dame Preparatory School, has been accepted into the Student Page Program. She will assist legislators in the Maryland General Assembly for two weeks in January and February.

Frances E. Whitby of Chase has been awarded the Maryland Society of Accountants Scholarship at Essex Community College.

Lisa Marie Stokes, a 1991 graduate of Hereford High School, has been awarded a College of Nursing Scholarship by Seton Hall College of Nursing in South Orange, N.J.

Ann Lacy of Sparks, professor of biological sciences at Goucher College, has been named to the college's Elizabeth Connolly Distinguished Professorship.

Joanne Benzing, a student at Villa Julie College, recently won the top award from the International Television and Video Association (ITVA), for a video documentary she produced on the Pediatric-Intensive Care Unit at the University of Maryland Hospital.

Angela M. Reaves received a Mary Cromwell Foundation Scholarship for the 1993 spring semester at Towson State University.

The Anne Arundel Community College Black Student Union presented the "Martin Luther King Jr. Zeitgeist" award to Sylvia Hibbler-Ingram, an associate professor of education at the college.
