Slain teen wasn't sexually assaulted

An Old Mill High School student who was found stabbed to death in the woods near her home was not sexually assaulted during the attack, county police said yesterday.

Test results show that Lisa Kathleen Haenel, 14, of the 300 block of Highland Drive, was not raped when she was killed on her way to school last Friday morning, police said.

Lisa's body was found at 9 a.m. by her mother's boyfriend as he searched the wooded path that runs between Shetlands Lane and an apartment complex to the school.

He spotted her naked body about 150 feet from the path in a ravine next to a rusted out car.

Police have made no arrests in the case and are following up dozens of leads they received after releasing a sketch this week of a possible witness to the crime.

After speaking with the clerk, the man took out a gun and demanded all the money from the cash register. The robber was last seen running toward a nearby apartment complex.

Police gave no description of the man.
