Accomplishments: In his freshman and sophomore years, he lettered in three sports: soccer, indoor track and tennis. He is a member of MESA, a mathematics, engineering and science association, as well as a member of the school's African American Awareness Club. Christopher serves as a peer mediator and was involved in the school's marching band. This year, he is a member of the Latin Club.

Christopher was selected Male Freshman of the Year last year and received a first-place certificate for a saxophone duet competition in the county.

Outside of school, he is part of the Columbia chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and part of the St. John's Cycle youth group, a religious organization. He volunteers at the Helping Hands Enrichment Leadership Program and referees for the Maryland State Youth Association. Christopher is also a member of the state Olympic Development Soccer Team.

Comments: "A lot of kids are fighting over things, like guys and girls. A lot of these arguments shouldn't be happening. As a peer mediator, I help other students resolve their conflicts. I feel happy and I get a sense of satisfaction that I was able to help someone else.

"The arguments and fights at school have decreased dramatically, all because of the peer mediation program."

Goals: "To pursue a career in medicine and to live life to the fullest."
