McLoud's 28, big 3rd quarter help St. Mary's top Lutheran, 68-51

Senior guard Charlie McLoud scored 28 points, and a 20-9 third quarter helped host St. Mary's (5-9, 4-3) pull away from Lutheran (2-7, 1-5) in an MSA Armstrong Conference B Division game yesterday, 68-51. Forwards Brad Davis and Joe Gruendal each added 10 for the Saints.

* Glenelg 69, Atholton 56: Jason Beall scored a game-high 33 points as Glenelg (7-2, 2-1) defeated host Atholton (4-7, 0-3) in a Howard County game. Brian Benden and Tommy Gough led Atholton with 16 points each.

* Boys' Latin 84, Arlington Baptist 37: Phil Booker scored 15 and Mike Lehr added 14 as Boys' Latin (8-4, 4-1) defeated visiting Arlington Baptist (5-12, 0-6) in an MSA Armstrong Conference B Division game. Jake Butler led Arlington Baptist with 15.

* Gibbons 93, St. Paul's 40: Steve Wojciechowski scored 18 points and handed out nine assists as host and No. 5 Gibbons (12-6, 6-0) defeated St. Paul's (3-10, 0-6) in an MSA Armstrong Conference A Division game.

Richard Dent added 17 for the Crusaders, and Mike Watson led St. Paul's with 17.

* Meade 87, Severna Park 58: Tyrone Jones scored 21 and Danny Sancomb 20 as No. 18 Meade (9-0, 1-0) defeated host Severna Park (4-6, 0-1) in an Anne Arundel County Friendship Division game.

Bakari Ward led Severna Park with 18.

* Granite Baptist 75, Frederick Christian 36: Bud Grammer scored 26 points and had nine rebounds as Granite Baptist (7-0) defeated host Frederick Christian. Shad Baab added 24 points for Granite Baptist, and Chad Main led Frederick Christian with 11.

* Calvary Christian 71, Carroll Christian 55: Senior forward Andy Seefried scored 33 as visiting Calvary Christian (13-0) defeated Carroll Christian (12-4).

Senior guard Matt Greenstreet led Carroll Christian with 16.

* Barrie School 65, Glenelg Country School 34: Scott Zimmerly scored 13 as Glenelg Country School (0-7) fell to Barrie School.

* Joppatowne 55, Havre DeGrace 35: Chris Gephardt scored a game-high 16 and Jermaine Head added 14 as Joppatowne (3-6, 1-4) defeated Havre de Grace (6-6, 1-4) in a Harford County game.

* Thomas Johnson 69, Liberty 61: Guard Mike Anders scored 24 to lead Thomas Johnson (11-1) over host Liberty (3-9). Senior guard Mike Davidson led Liberty with a game-high 33.

* Broadneck 63, Northeast 46: Bill Kupima scored 18 points to lead host Broadneck (7-3, 4-0) over Northeast (4-8, 1-3) in an Anne Arundel County Bay Division game.

Ed Nalley led Northeast with 17.
