SHOOTING: Central District -- Two men were shot shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of W. Fayette St. While Stephen Scott, of the 2100 block of Sidney Ave., was arguing with two men near a bus stop, one of them pulled out a handgun and shot him in the arm. Leon Howell, of the 1100 block of N. Fulton Ave., a bystander waiting for a bus, was shot in the leg. Both injured men were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment. The gunman and the man with him escaped. Police said Mr. Scott did not know the men he was arguing with.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of W. Fayette St. was seated inside a car in the 1600 block of W. Fayette St. Wednesday night when her ex-boyfriend entered the vehicle and stabbed her in the head and right hand with a screwdriver. The man escaped and the woman was treated at Maryland General Hospital.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who threatened a female resident of the 1300 block of Edmondson Ave. with a handgun Wednesday when she answered a knock at her door.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A word processor, camera, two radios and a VCR, all valued at more than $1,400, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1800 block of Penrose Ave.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 800 block of George St. was leaving a bar in the 600 block of N. Fremont Ave. Wednesday night when he was attacked by a man who robbed him of nearly $100.

THEFT: Western District -- A man visiting a friend in the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St. stole $235 in food stamps and $20 from her coat pocket Wednesday when she left a room for a few minutes.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man who entered a house in the 300 block of N. Calhoun St. Wednesday through a basement window.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 700 block of N. Payson St. of $57 Thursday morning in the 1900 block of W. Lanvale St.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed a resident of the 2400 block of Etting St. of her lambskin coat valued at $150 in the 2500 block of Francis St. Thursday.

THEFT: Western District -- A person known to witnesses entered a house in the 200 block of N. Monroe St. Wednesday and stole a VCR valued at nearly $300.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A man with a shotgun robbed a resident of the first block of N. Carrollton Ave. of $160 around noon Thursday in the 900 block of W. Fayette St.

THEFT: Western District -- Light fixtures, furniture, copper piping and other pieces of property were stolen from a house in the 2700 block of Riggs Ave. over the weekend by tenants as they moved out.

THEFT: Western District -- An 18-speed bike valued at $200 was stolen from the 1300 block of W. Lanvale St. Tuesday when its owner, a resident of the 1600 block of Lorman Court, left it unattended.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of Wilkens Ave. Thursday evening and stole a VCR valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- The home of a deceased woman in the 1800 block of Frederick Ave. was entered by someone between Wednesday and Thursday who stole a telephone and silverware.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Tools valued at $1,800 were stolen from a garage in the 1100 block of Scott St. between Tuesday and Thursday.

THEFT: Southern District -- Someone broke a window in a parked 1985 Volvo in the 600 block of W. Conway St. Tuesday and stole tools, clothing and tennis equipment, all valued at $800.

THEFT: Southern District -- A radar detector and bowling equipment, all valued at nearly $900 and owned by a resident of the 8200 block of Peach Orchard Road in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, were stolen Thursday from a parked 1987 Ford in the 800 block of S. Hanover St.

THEFT: Northern District -- Tools of unknown value were stolen Tuesday from a 1976 Ford parked in the 500 block of E. 33rd St.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 5900 block of Schering Road was in the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave. Thursday when he was robbed of nearly $90 by a man who implied he had a handgun and threatened to shoot him.

ROBBERY: A man carrying a can of Mace sprayed the irritant into the face of a Pennsylvania resident in the 4000 block of Old York Road Thursday morning and robbed the victim of $15.

THEFT: Northern District -- A hand saw, several other tools and a generator, all valued at $1,000, were stolen Wednesday or Thursday from a 1987 Chevrolet van parked in the 800 block of Powers St.

THEFT: Northern District -- Jewelry valued at nearly $700 was stolen from a 1987 BMW while it was parked in the 5600 block of York Road between Jan. 7 and Wednesday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a room under construction at Union Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of E. University Parkway between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning by knocking a hole in a wall and stole power tools valued at more than $1,100.
