Group's request for paper put on hold

The Community Services Council must provide the commissioners with more details -- including cost estimates -- for a proposed newsletter before receiving county services.

The nonprofit group asked the county commissioners Monday for paper and the use of copy machines to print quarterly newsletters for about 200 subscribers.

Commissioners OK easement purchase

The Carroll commissioners agreed Monday to purchase easements from John and Elizabeth Corbin of Langdon Drive near Taneytown to widen a road for use by school buses.

The county is building the new Runnymeade Elementary off Mayberry Road and needs to widen and regrade Langdon Drive to accommodate school buses. The easements will cost the county about $10,000.
