Chesapeake upends No. 18 Arundel in OT, 57-55 No. 3 Mount Hebron rips Centennial Girls basketball

Sandra Norris scored 16 and Megan Van Wambeke added 14 yesterday to help Chesapeake (5-2) to upset No. 18 Arundel (5-3) in overtime, 57-55. Alina Smith led Arundel with 13.

* Mount Hebron 52, Centennial 24: Erica McCauley and Emily Yanero scored 13 points each to lead No. 3 Mount Hebron (7-2, 1-0) over visiting Centennial (3-4, 0-1) in the Howard County opener for both teams.

* Harford Christian 61, West Nottingham 40: Jen Kreistel scored a game-high 22 and teammate Jen Chatham added 16 to lead host Harford Christian (11-0) past West Nottingham (1-4).

* Edgewood 59, Perryville 21: Senior point guard Monica Santana led visiting Edgewood (6-3, 2-0) with 20 points as it beat Perryville (2-4).

* Hammond 58, Atholton 20: Kacy Williams, Kelly Townsend and Sonia Keiner scored 10 each to carry No. 4 Hammond (5-2, 1-0) past host Atholton (4-5, 0-1) in a Howard County game.

* Loch Raven 59, Hereford 22: Shelley Klaes scored 17 and Michele DeJuliis added 12 to spark No. 12 Loch Raven (5-0, 4-0) past host Hereford (1-3, 1-3) in a Baltimore County 2A-1A game.

* Northwestern 60, Forest Park 48: Shalane Carter scored 16 and Today Butler added 15 to lead Northwestern (4-1, 4-1) over Forest Park (4-1, 4-1) in a City-Wide League 3A-2A-1A game.

* Milford Mill 61, Pikesville 40: Yolanda Matthews scored a game-high 23 to lift the Millers past Pikesville (4-1, 4-1) in a Baltimore County 2A-1A game. Colby Feldman scored 17 for Pikesville.

* Western 77, Mervo 24: Kimberly Smith scored 23 and Danielle Davis added 21 as No. 1 Western (11-0, 6-0) defeated visiting Mervo (0-5, 0-4) in a City-Wide 4A League game. Bridgette Scott led Mervo with 9.

* Towson 65, Patapsco 30: Sarah Weaver and Jesse Owens scored 13 each to lead the No. 20 Generals (3-1, 3-1) past Patapsco in a Baltimore County 2A-1A game.

* Chesapeake-BC 37, Overlea 20: Sloane Rogers scored a game-high 10 to lead the Bayhawks past the Falcons in a Baltimore County 2A-1A contest.

* Owings Mills 32, Sparrows Point 18: Allison Klein scored 19 to lead Owings Mills (2-3, 2-2) over visiting Sparrows Point (0-3, 0-3) in a Baltimore County 2A-1A game. Carrie Falkenham led the Pointers with nine.

* Glen Burnie 59, Northeast 45: Bridget Davis scored 18 and grabbed eight rebounds and teammate Melissa Schaffer added 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead host Glen Burnie (4-4) past Northeast. Jen Johansen led Northeast with a game-high 26 points.

* Woodlawn 52, Parkville 31: Senior guard Chris Clausen scored 15 and had four blocks, two assists and two steals to help Woodlawn (6-1, 6-1) beat visiting Parkville in a Baltimore County 4A-3A Division game. Kelly Lemley led Parkville with 10 points.

* Poly 54, City 43: Kenya Holman and Kelly Logan scored 12 each to lift visiting Poly (6-5, 3-2) past City in a City-Wide 4A League contest. Angela Brice added 11 points for the Engineers. Kelly Franklin scored 19 to lead City and Alyanna Levins added 13.

* Randallstown 60, Franklin 48: Nyota Mitchell scored 26 and pulled down 14 rebounds to help Randallstown (8-0, 8-0) beat Franklin (3-6, 3-4) in a Baltimore County 4A-3A League game. Kim Arthur added 14 for Randallstown. Sharee Lewis led Franklin with 13 points and Missy Daley and Jennifer Cooper each added 10.

* Lake Clifton 87, Patterson 31: Natisha Ferguson scored a game-high 25 to spark No. 14 Lake Clifton over Patterson in a City-Wide 4A League game.

* Kenwood 37, Perry Hall 29: Melissa Wosk had 12 points and Kim Wilmot added 10 to help Kenwood (3-4, 3-4) top Perry Hall in a Baltimore County 4A-3A game.

* Wilde Lake 47, Oakland Mills 41: Tracy Stefan scored 19 and Kristen Riismandel added 13 to lead host Wilde Lake (4-2, 1-0) over Oakland Mills (2-3, 0-1) in a Howard County game.

* Lansdowne 60, EVT 27: Junior forward Jaimi Schlaich scored 17 to lead No. 19 Lansdowne (8-1, 6-1) over visiting EVT (0-8). Tina Lotz led EVT with 16.

* Severna Park 49, Broadneck 40: Amy Carnaggio scored 10 points leading No. 17 Severna Park (6-2, past Broadneck (4-3) in an Anne Arundel County game. Jill Smith scored 10 points to lead Broadneck.
