Man charged with theft from Annapolis Mall

A Baltimore man was charged with theft after police said he tried to steal 13 pairs of designer jeans from an Annapolis Mall department store Wednesday night.

According to the police report, the Hecht Co. store security officers said they saw a man put 13 pairs of jeans in a shopping bag and then leave the store. When the security officers started to chase him, he dropped the bag and ran out of the mall, according to the police report.

Police arrested William A. Price, 18, of the 300 block of South Stricker St., a short distance away.

Armed man holds up Paceway store

County police were looking yesterday for the man who robbed the Paceway store in on Old Solomon's Island Road Wednesday.

According to the police report, the robber, who was armed with a revolver, walked into the store at 2 p.m. and ordered the employees to get on the floor. He took money from two cash registers, tore the phone from the wall and left the store.

* Annapolis: Burglars broke into a shed in the backyard of a home in the 700 block of Annapolis Neck Road sometime between Dec. 31 and Monday and took tools valued at $3,031.

* Annapolis: Burglars broke into a 1964 Nova that was parked in the 2400 block of Cedar Ave. Monday and took car parts valued at $693.* Lothian: A resident told police that someone broke into his trailer on Barksdale Road Wednesday and took two shotguns valued at $400.
