Dolphins, 49ers hit with fines

MIAMI -- Fourteen Miami Dolphins and 15 San Francisco 49ers have been fined between $1,000 and $2,000 each by the NFL for their involvement in a fight Dec. 6 after a 49ers touchdown.

The fight began shortly after Amp Lee scored a third-quarter TD. As the clubs' extra-point teams both started onto the field, a fight began between the Dolphins' defensive team and the 49ers' offensive squad.

"It was something that had been building for awhile," said Dolphins nose tackle Chuck Klingbeil, who was fined $2,000. "There was a lot of frustration on the field at that time. We thought they had been playing sort of dirty, and they must have thought the same."

The NFL wouldn't release the players fined or the total amount.
