St. Agnes Medical Staff elects new president

Dr. Albert Folgueras of Ellicott City has been elected to the post of president of the St. Agnes Medical Staff after serving a one-year term as president-elect.

In addition to being a member of the St. Agnes attending staff, he is also a senior attending staff member at James Lawrence Kernan Hospital.

Dr. Adolfo Alonso of Ellicott City was elected as president-elect. TitleAmerica, a Columbia-based real estate title and settlement company, recently announced the appointment of Philip H. Franklin as executive vice president and general manager of the company.

His responsibilities at TitleAmerica include the operation and administration of the title company's two locations. He resides in Columbia.

Organization gets six community leaders

FIRN (Foreign-born Information and Referral Network) has announced six community leaders have joined its board of directors:

M. Elizabeth Bobo, former Howard County executive and currently deputy secretary for programs for the State Department of Human Resources; Annie Geiermann, vice president of commercial lending for the Columbia Bank; Teri G. Harrison, director of human resources at Allied-Signal Aerospace Technology Center in Columbia; Lai Jones, president of Marketing & Design Inc.; Margaret Mauro, program officer for corporate contributions and the employee volunteer program at the Rouse Company; and Jose Valderas, division vice president of Owens and Minor, of Savage.
