BALTIMORE CITY

* THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a 1988 Dodge that was parked in the 1300 block of Morling Ave. over the weekend and stole stereo speakers and a pair of work boots, all valued at more than $300.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone took more than $250 from several vending machines at Hampden House in the 1100 block of W. 36th St. over the weekend.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- An answering machine and an antique stained-glass figure, valued together at $250, were stolen from a house in the 1200 block of W. Northern Parkway over the weekend by someone who entered through a window.

* PURSE SNATCHING: Northern District -- A Lothian Road woman was robbed of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $167, Tuesday morning by a man who pushed her to the ground.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke through a window into a dormitory room at the Johns Hopkins University between Dec. 26 and the weekend and stole a radio, a tape player and 10 compact discs, all valued at $350.

* THEFT: Northern District -- Power tools valued at $300 were stolen from a truck parked in the 1400 block of Union Ave. Monday night.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole a gold watch valued at $560 from a house in the 800 block of Druid Park Lake Drive Tuesday afternoon.

* BURGLARY: Northern District -- A power lawn mower valued at $350 was stolen from a garage in the 2400 block of Everton Road Monday by

someone who forced a door.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* SUICIDE TRY: Towson District -- A 52-year-old city man who climbed a smokestack at St. Joseph Hospital in the 7600 block of York Road Tuesday afternoon and threatened to jump was talked down by police and members of the fire department's advanced tactical rescue team. The uninjured man was admitted to the hospital's psychiatric section for evaluation.

* ROBBERY: Towson District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the Courthouse Square Apartments in the first block of Acorn Circle of her purse and $40 Tuesday evening near her home.

* VANDALISM: North Point District -- Seven grave markers on the Delvale Avenue side of the Holy Rosary Cemetery in the 7300 block of German Hill Road were found overturned Tuesday morning.

* STOLEN CAR BURNED: North Point District -- A 1990 Subaru Justy owned by a Harford County man was stolen about 8 p.m. Tuesday from the 2100 block of North Point Blvd. Nearly two hours later, the car was found burning in St. Helena Park.

* ROBBERY: Garrison District -- A resident of the first block of Tahoe Circle was robbed of a beeper and $50 Tuesday night by two men, one armed with a handgun, while he walked near his home.

* BURGLARY: Garrison District -- Someone stole stereo equipment valued at more than $1,800 from a house in the 19000 block of Brickstone Road in Randallstown Tuesday morning after

breaking through a basement window.
